Years in Technology: Too many to admit to!
Current Title: Director Enterprise Sales
Current Organization: Cogeco Peer 1

1. Why did you join the technology industry?

I started in the telecom industry but it has morphed into IT. Every year there is so much change and lots to learn. It is fascinating to see how technology drives advancement and innovation in every business and it is great to contribute to that.

2. Who is the person who has inspired you professionally?
There have been many including Gina Burella and Josie Scioli, 2 women who showed how females can lead in a predominantly male industry, and Mal Inrig who instilled personal values of Teamwork, Respect for Individuals, Exceed Expectations, and Continuous Improvement. I try to learn from every leader I have had.

3. If you could give one piece of advice to your 13-year-old self what would it be?
Try to take a job that scares you. You will stretch yourself, and in the process you will learn and thrive! Also, demonstrate confidence. “Walk on the stage like you own the joint”!

4. How do you think we can encourage more women in tech?
It has to start early, during education to show how technology can lead to an exciting, lifetime career path. For every woman who applies for a role on my team, there are probably 15 male candidates. I wish there were more diversity.

5. What is the best part of your job?
Sales is the best job because I get to speak to so many different companies and learn about their industries, their challenges and contribute to their success. No 2 days are the same. Being a leader is great because I can help team members achieve their career goals and hopefully be a positive influence in their lives.
